Thermaltake Toughpower 1500Watt Modular Power Supply Review

This item was filled under [ Hardware XL ]

Are you running out of power? I am taking a look at the ToughPower 1500Watt power supply from Thermaltake. My first thoughts before testing this huge PSU was to find second job to pay the electric bill, but it seems that the ToughPower 1500Watt PSU is very power effecient. The cables are all modular (apart from the main atx power cable) which is great seeing you would only have to connect those needed to run your system instead of having to tie down all the access cables which you dont use. Some say size does matter, well in this case it’s true. A normal PSU has a length of about 16cm, the ToughPower 1500Watt takes up 20cm. Will it fit in a case?

Thermaltake Xaser VI VG4000BNS Case Review

This item was filled under [ Hardware XL ]

Thermaltake is known for their cool cases and their latest editions will only enforce that fact. The Xaser VI series include aircooled cases with clear side panels and mesh panels as well as watercooled editions. I will be looking at the VG4000BNS, which has red mesh on both sides, although I like the color red it kinda hurt my eyes when looking at it 24/7 so I decided to change the case by giving it a paint job. As you can see it looks a lot better and easier on the eyes. But let’s not get to far ahead, read on to check out the full review of the original Xaser VI.

But I have tested these modules with Vista HP 32-bit as well and they worked just fine, but I had to with 3,5GB instead of the full 4GB. Wanna know more read on.

Asus P5N-T Deluxe nForce 780i Motherboard Preview

This item was filled under [ Hardware XL ]

The year 2007 is almost past and we have seen a lot of changes. Intel still going strong with their Core 2 Duo and Quad cpu’s and the popularity for the P35, X38 and the up and coming X48 chipsets left nVidia on the back burner for a while now. There have been alot of issues with the nForce680i chipset in the past and the 780i should solve most of them. Strange part is that the 780i is in fact a 680i with an added additional PCIe 2.0 bridge chipset. Here is a shot of the board and it’s layout, do keep in mind that this is not the retail version.

Intel Core 2 Duo Desktop E6750 and Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6850 Combo Review

This item was filled under [ Hardware XL ]

I recently got the chance to play with not one but two cpu’s from Intel, the Intel E6750 which runs at 2,66Ghz and the QX6850 which runs at 3.0Ghz. This review is not about one vs the other, looking at them pricewise the QX6850 would be the winner weighing in at $ 944,- (http://ads.justrelevant.com/product_detail.php?ad_partner=hardwarexl ad_channel= zipcode= ad_master_id=43354181) (OEM). But then again if your budget isn’t up that then the E6750 might win you over selling for $ 194,- (http://ads.justrelevant.com/product_detail.php?ad_partner=hardwarexl ad_channel= zipcode= ad_master_id=43369636) (OEM) does make it look very attractive.

I had run out of cooling compound so I send my girlfriend out to get some. My first reaction was that she had bought some nail polish and totally forgot to buy me some cooling compound. After inspecting the package a bit more I realized that what she had bought was infact a new product from Zalman, disguised as nail polish ;-)
